The company immediately launched an investigation, engaged third-party cybersecurity experts, and notified law enforcement.
According to Lockton, the investigation revealed that an unauthorized party accessed a single individual account and computer within its network, obtaining certain files on the same day. Lockton then conducted a thorough review to determine what personal information was exposed and identify affected individuals.
On February 28, 2025, Lockton began notifying impacted individuals, providing details on the compromised information. The exposed data included names and other sensitive details, though the full extent varies by individual. While the company has not reported any evidence of misuse, it is offering 24 months of complimentary identity monitoring through Experian IdentityWorksSM to help protect those affected.
In response to the breach, Lockton has implemented enhanced security measures to prevent future incidents. Affected individuals are encouraged to enroll in identity monitoring services, stay vigilant for potential fraud, and review their financial accounts for suspicious activity.
