Texana Bank’s Data Breach Investigation
Texana Bank, operating under Linden Bancshares, Inc., disclosed a cybersecurity incident that resulted in unauthorized access to sensitive personal information. On August 13, 2025, Texana discovered suspicious activity in one of its employee’s email accounts. The bank immediately launched an internal investigation and hired independent cybersecurity experts to assist.
The investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor accessed the email account between July 9, 2025 and August 13, 2025, potentially downloading emails and attachments that included customer data. After a detailed review, Texana concluded that personal information belonging to 1,324 individuals, including 3 Maine residents, may have been involved.
Texana clarified that there is currently no evidence the compromised information has been misused. Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, they are notifying affected individuals and offering identity protection services.
In response to the breach, Texana has taken steps to enhance the security of its systems and prevent future incidents.
