Data Breach Summary
Plavan Commercial Fueling, Inc. (P-Fleet) has confirmed that a recent data breach compromised the personal information of a Maine resident. The breach, which involved unauthorized access to an employee’s email account, was discovered during an investigation initiated in February 2025 after suspicious activity was detected in the account.
The incident occurred between November 26, 2024, and February 21, 2025, when an unauthorized party gained access to an employee’s email account at different times. P-Fleet reviewed the emails and attachments in the compromised account, which required a thorough and time-consuming investigation. On May 21, 2025, it was determined that one or more documents in the email account contained the name and Social Security number of one Maine resident.
To assist the affected individual, P-Fleet is offering a complimentary membership to Experian’s IdentityWorks, which provides identity theft detection and resolution services. This service is free to the affected individual and will not impact their credit score. P-Fleet encourages the affected individual to enroll in the program and to remain vigilant by reviewing their account statements and credit reports for any signs of unauthorized activity.
The breach may have involved the following personal information:
