On January 26, 2025, New York Blood Center Enterprises, (NYBCe) experienced a cybersecurity incident affecting its internal computer systems. NYBCe took immediate action to secure its systems and launched a thorough investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity partners. The investigation determined that, between January 20 and January 26, 2025, an unauthorized party gained access to the NYBCe network and acquired copies of a subset of files.

After identifying the files involved, NYBCe conducted a detailed review to determine which individuals’ information was included. A preliminary list of affected individuals was generated on June 30, 2025, followed by an extensive analysis to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the final notification list. This process was completed on August 12, 2025.

On September 5, 2025, NYBCe began mailing notification letters via U.S. First-Class Mail to the eight Maine residents whose information was involved.

NYBCe is also offering one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Experian® IdentityWorksSM to individuals whose Social Security number or driver’s license number was involved. These services help detect possible misuse of your information and provide identity protection services at no cost. Enrollment does not affect your credit score.
