1. Enroll in Free Credit Monitoring Services: To help alleviate concerns and restore confidence, Alight is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Experian. To take advantage of these services, you must enroll by January 31, 2026. Follow the instructions in Attachment A to enroll in these services.
2. Monitor Your Accounts for Unusual Activity: We recommend that you regularly review your financial accounts and credit reports for any suspicious or unauthorized activity. You are entitled to one free credit report annually from each of the three major credit bureaus.
3. Place a Fraud Alert or Security Freeze: You can place a fraud alert or security freeze on your credit report to help prevent unauthorized access. A fraud alert requires creditors to verify your identity before extending credit, while a security freeze restricts access to your credit file completely.
4. Report Suspicious Activity: If you discover any unauthorized activity on your accounts, contact your financial institution immediately. You should also file a report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and your state’s Attorney General.
