RRCA Accounts Management Data Breach

On June 6, 2024, RRCA Accounts Management Inc. experienced a ransomware attack by the Play threat actors, who infiltrated the company’s computer systems and accessed sensitive personal information. Although the company responded promptly to halt unauthorized access, RRCA was unaware of the extent of the breach until August 20, 2024, when they discovered that the cybercriminals had released some individuals’ personal data. The breach, which impacted 35 individuals, involved a range of sensitive data, including contact details, social security numbers, health insurance and payment information, and specific health data such as medical records and treatment details.

RRCA informed relevant clients, including healthcare providers and companies they serve for payment collection, about the incident and the potential compromise of personal information. Notably, sensitive data such as social security and taxpayer IDs, driver’s license and passport numbers, health records, and demographic information like gender and religious views may have been accessed.
