Data Breach Summary
IVC Technologies has disclosed a data breach that occurred on October 28, 2024, involving unauthorized access to its information technology (IT) environment.The breach affected 419 individuals, including 17 residents of Maine. Those impacted include current and former employees, job applicants, and enrolled family members of employees. The company immediately implemented security measures to contain and mitigate the breach, working with a leading cybersecurity incident response team. Investigations confirmed that while sensitive data was accessed, there is no evidence that the unauthorized third party copied or removed the information from IVC’s IT environment.
To address potential risks, IVC is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Equifax to all affected individuals and their family members for a duration of 24 months. Enrollment instructions for Equifax Complete™ Premier and Equifax Child Monitoring services have been provided to affected parties.
IVC has also reported the incident to local law enforcement, the FBI, and the Cyber Crimes division of Homeland Security. The company is collaborating with these agencies to ensure comprehensive investigation and response to the incident.
What Information Was Breached
IVC confirmed that the exposed data included names, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, and Social Security numbers. Additionally, for employees who enrolled family members in health benefits, the names and Social Security numbers of beneficiaries may have also been accessed.
