On February 2, 2024, Bronstein & Carmona, P.A.(B&C) identified unauthorized activity in its computer network, impacting 10,792 individuals, including 6 residents of Maine. This incident resulted from an external system breach (hacking).
Upon discovering the breach, B&C promptly secured its network, remediated the compromise, and engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident.
