The breach, which occurred between December 8 and December 9, 2024, was discovered when the company was informed of unauthorized server access on December 9, 2024.
An intruder installed malware on Epic’s servers, gaining access to customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and Social Security numbers. However, banking and credit card information were not included in the compromised data.
In response, the company has taken immediate steps to remove the malware and secure its systems with the assistance of cybersecurity experts.
