Fidelity Life Association Data Breach Details
The breach was uncovered after Fidelity Life completed an internal investigation into a potential data security issue. The investigation confirmed that unauthorized access was gained to confidential information in the company’s possession. At this stage, it is unclear whether Fidelity Life’s internal IT systems were directly breached, or if the incident occurred due to a third-party vendor or partner’s systems being compromised.
The company has reviewed the affected files and determined that the compromised information could include personal data such as names, addresses, driver’s license numbers, and medical information. Although the breach’s full scope is still being determined, Fidelity Life’s notification to the Texas Attorney General states that approximately 786 Texans have been impacted by the incident.
While Fidelity Life has yet to send personalized data breach notifications to the affected individuals, it is expected that these letters will soon be issued. These letters will provide detailed information about the specific data compromised for each individual.
