Data Breach Summary
On or about April 12, 2024, Metropolitan Council (Metro HRA) identified suspicious activity within an employee’s email account. Immediate action was taken to secure the email tenant, and a comprehensive investigation was launched with the assistance of cybersecurity specialists to determine the nature and scope of the event. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized actor had gained access to certain employee email accounts and SharePoint documents during various periods between March 27, 2024, and May 27, 2024.
The organization has reported the incident to appropriate regulators and is offering affected individuals 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services through IDX. Details on how to enroll in these services will be provided to those impacted
