Data Breach
Mickey’s Place, also known as The Mick’s in Cooperstown, Inc., experienced a significant data breach, exposing sensitive information from customers who made credit card transactions on its website. On September 2, 2024, Mickey’s Place identified suspicious code embedded in its website, leading to a comprehensive security response and investigation, aided by an independent cybersecurity firm.
The investigation found that unauthorized code had been inserted into the website on February 7, 2024, and that it continued operating until September 2, 2024, potentially redirecting sensitive information from online credit card purchases to an external source. This information included customers’ names, addresses, and full credit card details, including expiration dates and CVV codes. Although the investigation, completed on September 20, 2024, could not confirm that all transactions were diverted, it identified those at risk.
Class Action U, a legal advocacy group supporting data breach victims, is offering assistance to affected individuals. Those who conducted transactions on Mickey’s website during the exposure period are encouraged to contact Class Action U to discuss potential inclusion in a class action lawsuit.
