Numotion Data Breach Details
The breach occurred on multiple occasions between September 2, 2024, and November 18, 2024. Numotion became aware of unauthorized access to employee email accounts and launched an internal investigation. After an extensive review, the company confirmed on January 22, 2025, that the compromised emails contained personal information of some customers.
In response to the breach, Numotion is offering affected individuals a complimentary membership to Experian IdentityWorksSM Credit 3B, an identity protection service that monitors for potential misuse of personal information.
Previous Security Breach
This is not the first time Numotion has experienced a cybersecurity incident. In early 2024, the company reported a cyberattack to the Vermont Attorney General. That breach, occurring between February 29 and March 2, 2024, involved an unauthorized party gaining access to Numotion’s computer systems, encrypting some files, and potentially acquiring sensitive data.
Numotion has assured customers that it is taking steps to strengthen its cybersecurity infrastructure to prevent future incidents. However, given the company’s history of breaches, affected individuals should remain vigilant and take advantage of the protective measures available to them.
