Planned Parenthood of Montana Data Breach

On August 28, 2024, PPMT detected unauthorized access to certain systems within its network. In response, PPMT took immediate steps to secure its systems, launched an investigation with cybersecurity experts, and informed law enforcement of the incident. By September 6, 2024, the investigation confirmed that an unauthorized individual had accessed the network and acquired files containing patient information. The unauthorized access and data acquisition occurred between August 24, 2024, and August 28, 2024.

What Information Was Involved?

The compromised files may have included sensitive patient information such as:

• Name
• Address
• Date of birth
• Medical record number
• Health insurance information
• Provider names
• Dates of service
• Diagnosis information
• Treatment details
• Prescription information

How to Know if You Were Affected

If you have received a notification from PPMT, it means your personal health information may have been involved in the breach.
