Data Breach Summary
Serviceaide, Inc. has recently notified individuals of a data security incident involving the inadvertent exposure of personal information from its Catholic Health Elasticsearch database. Although there is no evidence that this information has been misused, the company is offering credit monitoring services and providing steps for affected individuals to protect their personal data.
On November 15, 2024, Serviceaide discovered that certain patient information in the Catholic Health Elasticsearch database was inadvertently made publicly available. The issue stemmed from a vulnerability that exposed sensitive data for several weeks. A thorough investigation was launched, and a third-party data review vendor was engaged to examine the impacted data. The review concluded on March 20, 2025, and confirmed that some individuals’ personal and medical information was affected.
The company has also reported the breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and other relevant government regulators.
To help affected individuals, Serviceaide is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company, for 12 months. These services are available at no cost to individuals, but they must enroll themselves to activate the protection.
