Dietzgen Corporation, operating as Sihl, Inc. (“Sihl”), has identified a security incident involving unauthorized access to its internal systems. On August 26 and 27, 2024, an unauthorized third party gained access to segments of Sihl’s network and copied certain files. Immediate actions were taken to secure the systems, and an investigation was launched with the assistance of external forensic consultants. The investigation concluded on December 5, 2024, confirming that some personal information was present in the accessed files.

A limited number of these files were briefly published online but were promptly removed and deleted. Only authorized parties, including cybersecurity experts assisting with the response, viewed the files. To date, there is no evidence that any additional unauthorized parties accessed or misused the personal information.

What Information Was Involved?

The accessed files contained employee personal information, including:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth (in some instances)
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Bank account and routing numbers
  • Health insurance information (if shared as part of employment records)
