SSK Plastic Surgery Data Breach Details
An unknown intruder gained unauthorized access to SSK Plastic Surgery systems in an attempt to extort the company. Upon discovering the intrusion, SSK immediately notified law enforcement, took action to contain the breach, and engaged cybersecurity experts to investigate.
Through its investigation, SSK confirmed that an unauthorized third party may have accessed sensitive client information between March 20, 2024, and July 24, 2024. The breach involved a limited number of documents that may have contained names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and, in some cases, health-related information, including consultation images. A small number of Social Security numbers and driver’s license details were also potentially exposed. While SSK believes the intruder was primarily seeking financial gain rather than stealing personal data, the company is notifying affected individuals as a precaution.
In response to the breach the company is offering two years of complimentary identity monitoring services through Kroll, a global risk mitigation firm. Affected individuals are encouraged to monitor their financial accounts for suspicious activity and review the Federal Trade Commission’s identity theft protection guidelines.
