If you purchased tickets from SeatGeek between April 2022 and April 2025 for events in New York or Nevada, you may have been charged hidden fees at the final stage of checkout. SeatGeek has been accused of advertising “fee-free” ticket prices, only to add hidden fees at the last moment, significantly increasing the total price by more than 20%.
SeatGeek allegedly advertised tickets with no upfront fees, leading customers to believe they were paying one price. However, after consumers entered their credit card and billing information, SeatGeek may have added significant fees at the final confirmation screen, making the total ticket price much higher than initially advertised.
By allegdly not disclosing the full price, including fees, until the final step of the purchase process, SeatGeek may have violated New York’s Art and Cultural Affairs Law (ACAL) and Nevada’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act. This alleged deceptive pricing practice misled consumers, who had no reason to expect hidden charges at the end of the transaction.
