Data Breach Summary
In a recent report to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, With Intelligence, a financial services provider, disclosed a data breach that exposed sensitive personal information belonging to individuals involved in its operations.
The breach, which took place on June 28, 2025, was traced back to PeopleCheck, a third-party supplier conducting background checks and employee screening on With Intelligence’s behalf. The breach was caused by compromised login credentials used by threat actors to access candidate and employee data.
On June 28, 2025, PeopleCheck became aware of a security incident in which unauthorized individuals gained access to personal data stored and processed by PeopleCheck for With Intelligence. The data that was potentially compromised includes information processed between June 2024 and June 2025. Upon discovering the breach, PeopleCheck promptly engaged a forensic investigator to assess the situation and determine the full extent of the incident.
On July 7, 2025, PeopleCheck notified With Intelligence that data processed on their behalf may have been affected. By July 11, 2025, PeopleCheck confirmed that the personal information of individuals associated with With Intelligence had been compromised in the breach.

It is important to note that financial information was not compromised during the incident, and any documents uploaded to PeopleCheck’s systems remain secure.
