What to Do If Your Credit Card Information Has Been Compromised?

Video Transcript

If your credit card number has been compromised in a data breach, immediately contact the issuer of the credit card. It’s often a bank, and you should have that number—it’s typically on the back of your credit card.

Let them know that your card has been compromised. They will close the account, make sure that no other charges come through, and they’ll open you a new account and issue a new card.
