On January 29, 2026, the claimant for auto claim 21-95X9-16J contacted State Farm to request personal information for reporting the accident to Massachusetts state authorities, as required within five days of the incident.
As a part of this process, a State Farm representative inadvertently provided the claimant with personal data that should not have been disclosed. The information shared included the following:
This disclosure occurred as part of a routine insurance claim process, but it was not intended to be shared at this stage. State Farm responded to the situation by coaching the Claim Associate responsible to ensure similar incidents do not happen in the future.
State Farm emphasizes that this was an inadvertent disclosure and no malicious intent was involved. However, the sharing of sensitive personal information still carries the risk of misuse, including identity theft and fraud.
