Brooklyn Bedding Agrees to $8.16 Million Settlement Over Allegedly Fake Discount Prices: How to Claim Your $110

Brooklyn Bedding LLC and Night US, LLC reached an $8,163,000 class action settlement to resolve allegations that they misled online shoppers across four mattress sites—Leesa.com, BrooklynBedding.com, HelixSleep.com, and BearMattress.com—by advertising products at false “discounted” prices relative to artificially inflated reference prices.

If you purchased a discounted mattress online from Leesa, Brooklyn Bedding, Helix Sleep, or Bear Mattress, you may be eligible to receive a $110 cash payout or credit voucher per mattress. Brooklyn Bedding LLC and Night US, LLC have agreed to pay over $8.16 million to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging the mattress manufacturers used deceptive pricing tactics to market online discounts. The settlement covers qualifying purchases made by California residents or individuals physically present in California during specific site-by-site timeframes extending back to July 2019.

What Is the Brooklyn Bedding Fake Discount Lawsuit About?

When shopping for home goods online, a crossed-out regular price can make a sale look like an unbeatable deal. However, plaintiffs in a California class action lawsuit alleged that those advertised savings were built on misleading reference prices.

The lawsuit, officially titled Grossman, et al. v. Night US, LLC et al. (Case No. 26CU017232N), alleged that Brooklyn Bedding and Night US engaged in deceptive pricing strategies across four major mattress websites. According to court filings, the companies routinely advertised mattresses at steep “discounted” rates compared to higher original prices. Plaintiffs claimed these original reference prices were artificially inflated and did not reflect the true, regular retail prices at which the mattresses were regularly sold.

By framing standard everyday prices as limited-time bargains, the lawsuit alleged that the companies misled consumers into believing they were receiving deep savings. Rather than competing fairly on price, the suit claimed the sellers used false urgency and fake reference prices to boost online orders.

Brooklyn Bedding and Night US deny all allegations of wrongdoing and maintain that their promotional practices were lawful. Both parties agreed to the $8,163,000 settlement to resolve the litigation and avoid the costs, burdens, and distraction of a trial.

Who Is Included in the $8.16 Million Settlement Class?

The settlement received preliminary court approval on June 26, 2026. The agreement covers all individuals who, while physically in California or as a resident of the state, purchased one or more mattresses advertised at a discount from any of the following websites during the applicable class periods:

  • Leesa.com: July 28, 2019 to March 11, 2024

  • BrooklynBedding.com: September 5, 2020 to March 31, 2024

  • HelixSleep.com: October 2, 2020 to March 31, 2024

  • BearMattress.com: June 4, 2021 to April 1, 2024

Court records indicate that class members purchased approximately 74,212 qualifying mattresses advertised at a discount during these periods. If you bought a mattress outside of these dates, or if your purchase was limited to accessories like bedding or frames without a mattress, you are not part of this specific class action deal. Checking your digital receipts or online store account confirmation is the fastest way to confirm whether your purchase qualifies.

How Much Can You Receive from the Brooklyn Bedding Settlement?

Eligible class members are entitled to receive a $110 award for each qualifying mattress order placed during the specified timeframes. You can choose whether to receive your payout as cash or as a store credit voucher.

  • Cash Benefit: If you want your $110 per qualifying mattress sent as a direct cash payment via electronic transfer (such as PayPal or prepaid card) or physical check, you must submit a valid claim form before the filing deadline.

  • Store Credit Voucher: If you do not submit a claim form, you will automatically receive a $110 credit voucher per qualifying mattress order.

For class members who ordered multiple qualifying mattresses across one or more of the four brand storefronts during the class period, the $110 award applies to each qualifying mattress order.

How Do the $110 Store Credit Vouchers Work?

If you opt for or automatically receive the store credit voucher, the settlement outlines clear conditions for redemption. Each voucher is issued for the specific brand website where you placed your original mattress purchase:

  • A purchase made on Leesa.com yields a voucher usable only on Leesa.com.

  • A purchase made on BrooklynBedding.com yields a voucher usable only on BrooklynBedding.com.

  • A purchase made on HelixSleep.com yields a voucher usable only on HelixSleep.com.

  • A purchase made on BearMattress.com yields a voucher usable only on BearMattress.com.

Vouchers remain valid for three years (36 months) from the date they are issued. They can be applied toward any product on the site, including shipping, handling, and taxes. Additionally, the vouchers can be combined with other active site sales or promotional discounts, are stackable if you hold more than one, and are transferable to family or friends if you do not plan to use them yourself.

How California False Advertising Laws Protect Online Shoppers

The legal claims in this lawsuit center on core California consumer protection statutes designed to maintain transparency in retail pricing:

  1. California Unfair Competition Law (UCL): Outlaws fraudulent, unlawful, or unfair business acts and deceptive promotional campaigns.

  2. California Consumers Legal Remedies Act (CLRA): Prohibits deceptive practices in consumer transactions, including misrepresenting price reductions or regular retail values.

  3. California False Advertising Law (FAL): Makes it illegal for businesses to publish untrue or misleading statements regarding product prices, savings, or former reference values.

Under California law, retailers are prohibited from advertising a former price unless that price was the prevailing market price within the preceding three months, or unless the precise dates when the product was sold at that price are clearly disclosed. When online sellers use misleading reference prices, it deprives shoppers of honest information. Class action lawsuits allow everyday people to enforce these laws and hold companies accountable for transparent marketing.
