How Long Does a Data Breach Last?

Video Transcript

A typical data breach case can run anywhere between a year and maybe three or four years. The shorter period is if the case resolves early or, for some reason, if the lawyers that brought the case were to lose the case. The longer ones are if the defendant—the company that you sued—wants to fight the case, and that could go on for some time.
